Did you know that not everyone struggles to initiate tasks when they have a looming meeting in 6 hours? The very act of knowing I must pick my kids up after school can be the thing that makes it impossible to engage in a project at home. How much productivity is lost in those hours of waiting?

A common coping tool used by us ADHDers is the fear of starting. Often knowing you can’t do it perfectly or complete something right now will lead to an inability to initiate. This can come from a distrust of our ability to follow through or do things to the standards and expectations of ourselves or others. This can feel paralyzing!

While we protect ourselves from shame and disappointment by not challenging ourselves, we discount the missed opportunities. I had a psychiatrist once frame it as a struggle to meet potential. What is the cost of the potential you are not meeting?

Don’t let this fear of starting get in the way of you moving forward in a different direction with your ADHD. Taking the first step is always the hardest. I’ve made it easier…just reach out! You aren’t out anything if it doesn’t feel like a good fit or the vibes are off. I’m offering a free stress reduction strategy call to help prioritize your needs and goals. This alone can be a game changer for some without signing up for additional services.

Right now, I’m offering a few spots for 6-week individual coaching packages. This is just in time to reset yet this year so you can start 2026 with better tools to follow through with your goals and intentions. What would it feel like to set goals for 2026 with more trust in your ability to follow through?
